Biggest Xmas food/drink disappointment/pleasant surprise

If you're like us, you buy things to eat and drink at Christmas that you don't buy the rest of the year. What have been your biggest disappointments and what have been better than expected?

Disappointment: M&S Blacksticks Blue cheese.
Better than expected: Aldi's Boyle's and Fleuriste gins.

I didn't have many disappointments to be honest but I did make a coca-cola cooked ham for xmas day for the first time glazed with honey and mustard. It was exceptional.

Aldi Ribero Del Duero was very nice.

It was very tasty and perfectly cooked. Just warmed it in the oven for a bit

I have ended up unexpectedly working on a P&O ship for two weeks over Christmas and New Year. The officers' Christmas dinner was exceptional all around.
