Which Supermarket Delivery Service?
Discussion
We were using AmazonFresh. It cost £6.99 a month for as many deliveries as we liked, delivered at any time, as long as we spent £40 each time, which we always do.
They have changed the pricing structure now. They have dropped the £6.99 to £3.99 but now charge £3.99 per delivery when spending between £40 and £60 (which we do).
This means 4 shops a month will now cost just shy of £20, which IMO is a lot.
Are there any others that are particularly good? I've heard mostly good things about Ocado?
Thanks.

We have used them all: Sainsbury, Tesco mainly but have used Asda, Waitrose, Morrisons and Ocado.
Sainsbury's app is best closely followed by Tesco.
Tesco's implementation of discount vouchers (online) and policy of price matching on substitutions / returns is better implemented (you get a refund as opposed to an email voucher which you need to remember to add on your next shop).
For us Tesco's groceries are the freshest but I think that will be specific to the shop that services your locality and how well it is run.

Waitrose/Sainburys/Ocado - whoever has the best new customer signup offer you can find, and when it runs out, switch.
Once you've done all that, start again, but with the new accounts your wife sets up. That's what I did.By the time you've done that, see who starts introducing the "we've not heard from you in a while" discounts.
Sainsburys seems the best to me.
For example, start the order on a Monday for Friday delivery.
Sainsburys - they know what the specials and prices will be on Friday so that's what they quote. Rarely change the item to say it's out of stock etc.
Asda - they have no clue what's on special and charge whatever the price is on the day you place the order. If you log in Tuesday to change or add something they then tell you new prices and that some things are out of stock. Log in the following day, these items are now back in stock. Makes editing the order a bit of a lottery at best.
Tesco - others haven't had problems but mine is less than useless. Their idea of a short date and mine is very different! As for the alternatives I can only assume the staff are trying to be funny, leaks are not an alternative to melon but apparently it was a perfectly acceptable swap.
If Aldi or Lidl did home delivery I'd probably use them.
I currently have a deal with Asda for cheap delivery which is something like £3 per month for unlimited any time deliveries for 6 months. I'll see what Sainsbury have on offer when this runs out.

That sounds good. I use Tesco off peak, Tue-Thu @ £3.50 pcm as often as I like.
No problem with dates, which are generally better than my nearest store, or substitutions, which are few, and you can amend a late pm order up until lunchtime.
Delivery drivers are excellent, will happily bring in the crates as I can't lift them, and even offer to stand holding them for me.
Only real negative is the web site is slow since they updated it, and doesn't work at all on my old (Vista) PC. Android app is good. Quickest full shop so far, 18 minutes

Is the Ocado SmartPass a good option? I have been offered it free for 12 months. It claims unlimited deliveries. Does anyone know know if there are any limitations to this?
We have the SmartPass although we have to pay I think around £6 per month. So getting it for a year free is a good deal I think. There are no limitations apart from Christmas deliveries not being included and each shop needing to be over £40.
We tend to have Ocado delivery usually twice per week at 0630. Very convenient.

Not the cheapest option, but I can't imagine ever going back to spending hours every week trawling around a supermarket.
Leave your partner at home, and you can get it done in 30 mins
I am yet to online shop, we have a large fridge freezer so one big shop every so often takes care of most stuff. Then just the smaller shop runs which are looked forward to either for Aldi specials that I pick up, or the Waitrose deserts

I do live close to a few supermarkets though, so walkable or very short drive. If they were far away I would reconsider.
