Any recommendations for tasty non-alcoholic beer? Have used Brewdog for a while now but looking an alternative. Prefer Pale Ales but nice hoppy lager okay too. Thanks

Bavaria Zero is one of the better ones. I think Tesco stock it at the moment. Not sure I should be telling you really as I do work for Bavaria and my son works for Brewdog!

+1 on Bavaria Zero from me, better than the C9bra equivalent. I’m pretty sure if you served some blind the recipient wouldn’t know. My kids bought me 0% Bavaria Wheat beer by mistake. That is really nice too.

Heineken 0 was my wife's favourite when pregnant, followed by
Becks Blue and
Bavaria

I've tried a few and I find the Bavaria wheat beer the best over all, but the best larger is the Sainsburys own Czech Larger. In fact I've just finished a bottle. Its one of the few that has no awful malty after taste IMO.

My favourite is Brew Dog's 'Nanny State', but St Peter's 'Without' is pretty good.

Estrella Damm was best I found when in KSA.

Try the Erdinger alcohol free (blue bottle). Described as an 'isotonic'...

In Sweden there are loads of lower strength lagers that the supermarkets sell. My favourite is:

It's a shame there isn't a big range in the UK, most of the lower strength stuff I've tried tastes far too watery and "thin" if that makes sense!?

Don’t crucify me but i’ll Try mixing Heineken 0 with FF Heinie. A 50/50 blend should be 2.5%. What could go wrong. smile

In summer I drink beer, well I like to when I go out for Sunday Lunch but obviously I can’t have 3 pints and drive home. Plus it makes me tired. It’s frustrating not having a very low alcohol option that I could drink and know I was fine to drive.

The biggest thing about non alcoholic beer is that you get a weird ‘sweetness’ in place of where the alcohol should be.

Bitburger ‘drive’ is pretty good. Brewdog Nanny state, too, even though I’m not a fan of hoppy beers.

Nanny State is the best easily available one, but Drink'in the Sun is the beer geek's reference.

Yeah not really a category we have here, there aren't all that many at ~2% that I know of.

Lots of good stuff (pale ales, some bitters) to choose from at 3.4-3.8% though, if that isn't too high.

There are a few Belgian fruit lambics, usually Raspberry or Peach, at 2.5% but it isn't really like drinking beer. I've been buying some of of this from Beers of Europe lately, really nice weissbier at only 2.9%

Some of the very cheap supermarket own 'value' brand beers are in the 2% range. (I assume there is a lower tax band that allows them to be so cheap).

I had some agreeable Lidl Radler last week @ 2.5% for 59p a large can, but that seems to have been a weekly special rather than a regular line.

Sainsbury's do stubbies that are 2.5% - https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/sai...

These are great on a hot day as can drink a lot without getting totally smashed.

Otherwise, zero alcohol wise, I think Erdinger, Bavaria and St Miguel are the best.

Sticks.

I can manage 2 Beck's Blue if they're very cold, and that's the best I've tried, so far anyway. Wasn't keen on the Bavaria, although I like their 5%, and Cobra was appalling.

I bought some Tesco 'Everyday Bitter' @ 2% and 4/£1 for slug traps and tried it (first). It was like a shandy without the sweetness.

There's now a 'Mid Range' Draught Guinness @2.8% in cans which tastes just like the full strength one.
