i've had it several times over the years in europe as a post dinner shot, usually on the house as a post dinner pallet cleanser..it's lovely stuff. Didn't know you could get it here tbh!

Love it. Best kept in the freezer.

Crema Limoncello is also lovely.

After a fair amount of internal struggle, first one way, then the
other, I’ve talked myself into letting this one pass unheeded.

Much Limoncello would be perfect for such a use, IME.

But, it might be really good at cleaning pallets...

Lovely stuff, I was introduced to it a few years go in Sardinia at a lovely Pizza place, after the meal they would plonk a bottle each of Limoncello and Mirto (local liqueur) on the table, 2 shot glasses and let us get on with it and wouldn't charge us.

Goes well, if a bit dangerously, with prosecco or champagne as a mixer.

Make it yourself it’s not hard!

Use a good grain vodka it takes a few weeks but we’ll worth it

This is the kind of drink that tastes superb as a post-dinner aperitif on the banks of Lake Garda, but like petrol when you try it after a rainy BBQ in Bracknell.

I blame the heat on my poor spelling efforts there...but, ever see a dirty pallet in an Italian restaurant? biggrin

Went on a stag doo to Italy last year and stayed in an airbnb where the owner had many many demi-johns full of the stuff. Brought a bottle home and love it with Prosecco.

About 10 weeks ago I started making my own batch and I reckon this weekend could well be my first sampling of it.

This is the recipe I used. https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/ho...

Ramping it up to a total of 2 litres with the additional syrup has made nearly a gallon (minus lemon peel; displacement)

It's a great summer drink. Quite easy to make, but use a good quality vodka and the best lemons you can find. I've a bottle in the freezer (remains liquid of course!) and it goes very nicely poured over some vanilla icecream.

We've just returned but developed a taste for hugo/ugo? Proseco and elderflower over ice with mint and fresh sliced apple...mmmm
