Anyone using Big K briquettes in a smoker?
Discussion
I've got a large lump of pork which needs to go in the smoker for probably 12-14 hours this weekend.
I've been using the Big K briquettes recently for smoking but last time it took ages to hit 225 and I'm wondering how much variation in heat and burn time I'd get by stacking them in the smoker in different ways.
This is the stuff:

Up to now I just arrange them in various directions to fill the space, but I'm thinking this time of packing them all in vertically so the hole down the middle of each piece will allow more air to flow through, hopefully getting up to temp. quicker.
Anyone here sad enough to have played around with different stacking strategies?
