Jersey, Good Restaurants ?
Discussion
Wife and I are just off to Jersey for a long weekend, staying at the Grand Hotel in St Helier, we're eating there on Sunday evening and I have already planned this evening.
I'm looking for a really good restaurant for Saturday evening and have found Bohemia, The Ocean and Samphire which looks like it was formerly Ormer, can anyone give me any info on any of them or any other suggestions please?

Are you hiring a car or relying on public transport/taxis?
Lot's of nice places to eat across the island.
Upmarket beach cafes can be found down St Ouens with El Tico and Le Braye, both have good views over the beach, good to see the sun going down.
My most recent good meal was at Number 10 Restaurant, all local produce and just round the corner from The Grand
Other good restaurants include the Atlantic and Longueville Manor, you'll be paying for these though!
Hope you have a good time!

Jersey food report.
Friday: The Grand Jersey Hotel's Tassili Restaurant tasting menu was not cheap but superb, 7 courses of joy with a wine flight to match. I'll sort out some photo's later.
Saturday: Lunch at Seascale, a seafront restaurant in Gorey, 6 large oysters, hot crab claws in garlic butter, huge crab salad for my wife and shared Jersey potatoes, all delicious. Dinner at The Green Olive, wife happy with her choices, me not so impressed with mine, a good pork chop slightly spoiled by amateurish garnish and sauces.
Sunday: Very nice mixed tapas lunch at the big modern place on St Aubin pier with the added bonus of the Hungarian Grand Prix on a big screen outside. Dinner at Mark Jordan at the Beach, nice position and ambiance, very good food but portions a little small for the price, oysters were especially nice though.
Monday: Lunch at The Ocean Restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel, very upmarket but three courses for £27.50 was good value and my main of confit lamb breast was probably the best single dish of the weekend, the sauce was so rich and intense it was almost like marmite.
The most impressive thing was the quality of the seafood in Jersey and there are plenty of places yet to try so we will definitely go back at sometime in the future.

I think that Will Holland is at the Atlantic, I have enjoyed his food immensely, lamb in particular.Friday: The Grand Jersey Hotel's Tassili Restaurant tasting menu was not cheap but superb, 7 courses of joy with a wine flight to match. I'll sort out some photo's later.
