I find I’m making more and more stew type dishes where stuff needs to be browned/fried on the hob first and then slowish cooked in the oven.

Guess what I need for the job is a Casserole dish, so what’s a good one?

Used a Le Creuset enamel lined cast iron version for 20 years now, it’s the Daddy.

Le Crouset! find some old stuff if you can, often very cheap compared to brand new and can easily be restored to like-new

I did also get a HUGE cast iron cassarole from Aldi about 6 years ago and that's pretty fantastic, has a griddle pan on the inside of the lid so good for steaks as well

I have 2 Le Creuset casserole dishes but they are expensive. I also have a Sainsburys cast iron casserole pot and similar quality.

However what I find I use most is a stainless steel version from Ikea that I have had for 20 years and still going strong.

I see that Aldi is also bring out their own range of cast iron cookware https://metro.co.uk/2018/09/14/aldis-new-cast-iron...

Thanks guys, seems like I started this topic twice, had a bunch of suggestions on the other thread already.
Sorry about the double post!

Aldi are about to start a new offer on casserole dishes, pans and roasters etc very similar in looks to Le Creuset.
