Looking for some ideas on eating out in Bath please?
Taking 2 friends (married couple) out for the evening to the Christmas markets in Bath on 1st December, booked a decent hotel but they love their eating out so want it to be an experience, nice cocktails and good food seems to be what they enjoy. Not spending £200 a head treating them would be my most enjoyable experience.
Any recommendations much appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure I like the idea of not knowing what I am going to be served and once you add wine etc it's a bit more than I want to pay to take friends out for their 30th I think. We're staying at the Gainsborough and the 2 places we've looked at and thought we liked the look of were Hudson and Sotto Sotto, imagine I'll have to choose and book ASAP.
Thanks for the advice and link to previous thread.
Royal Crescent Hotel? Had a fantastic weekend there many years ago. Couple of friends were there earlier this year & said the Dower House restaurant was very good. Excellent spa too & the location is very walkable to the centre of town.
(Don't mention my name - had a totally humiliating experience in the spa. Hadn't had a massage before, so on check in I asked if I should keep my shorts on, or take them off. "Up to you sir" came the reply. Decided to double check when I got to the Spa. The stunningly attractive masseuse (probably half my age) confirmed it was my choice & then left whilst I disrobed in the treatment room. A minute later, lying face down & completely naked on the table I heard her returning footsteps. There was a pause at the door & complete silence. The footsteps came close & a towel was discretely draped over my bum, at which point I realised I was lying on a towel...which I should have draped over myself. Christ it still makes me shiver now. The poor woman. Excellent massage though and no lawsuit, which was a welcome & unexpected bonus).

I posted my thoughts on a few places that were recommended. It was a great weekend, everywhere we went was great!

Having just spent 5 days in Bath, I would without question recommend Chez Dominique. It is my second time there and the place is superb. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g1...
For cocktails, try Opium, which is just essentially right underneath Chez Dominique or go to Dark Horse. Both are superb cocktail lounges.
