I'd love one of these in the kitchen but they seem expensive, something like this -

Anyone got any experience or advice? I realise it's cheaper to just buy it in the supermarket - I just fancy one.

I notice they seem to waste a lot of fruit. If you've got a kitchen big enough to store a lot of oranges, fine, but otherwise I think you'll be frustrated by the small amount of juice you will be getting from your stock.

I've got a properly meaty simple juicer (not the ratchet sort, just a big arm) which I found in a car boot sale for next to nothing. If you've £££ to spend on making juice, I reckon you want something more efficient than the quick machines.

OP, I'm guessing if you are willing to spend that much on a juicer you can afford a cleaner? - because that looks like it would be a bh to clean after use.

You will have to buy a lot of oranges. They really don't produce much juice per fruit.

1 orange produces anything from 50-70ml so for a litre you're looking at around 15-20 oranges.

After laughing above I should admit that Mrs G really wants one of these.

She’s not getting one, but her want is big.

From a health viewpoint you would be much better off just eating an orange.

Thanks, so the conversion rate and keeping it clean are the two things to consider (as well as the massive cost). A lot of the local cafe's have these and the juice just tastes so much better than anything you can buy. Plus I like the idea of having an orange mountain.

More research to be done - maybe a liquidated assets sale might be a cheaper acquisition method.

A friend of mine got one a few years ago. It was such a pain to clean it was used twice.

There’s an orange juice machine at Tesco in Amersham and it works great!

It is the size of a larger fridge though.

You can have one of these for free...if you buy enough oranges each month!

Quite difficult to put vodka in one, though.
