Dessert and cake shops springing up.

There seem to be a huge amount of dessert shops opening wherever I go.

They have different names but often a similar pink on black logo.

Are desserts the new big thing in eating out?

I wonder whether they will last the course, maybe they’ve been there ages and I’ve not noticed.

There are quite a lot popping up in Sheffield. I assumed they are catering to the significant market of overseas students and locals who don't hang out in pubs or bars for cultural or religious reasons.

Just moving with the times I guess, plenty of young people aren't really interested in drinking.

Noticed quite a few ice cream parlours popping up over the past couple of years, probably made a decent wedge over summer with the heatwave we've had but who is going to frequent them at winter?
