Does anyone still have such a thing? Probably a dated subject, but I’m an old fashioned girl.

For the price of a bottle of Gin and inc delivery I’ve bought myself a retro Cocktail cabinet, to store my stash in secret with a quirky revolving mid section to entertain guests with. Will be working on removing the heavy varnish and painting it black and gold.

I’ll be trawling charity shops and auctions and raiding my parents cupboards for retro glassware and related artifacts (remember those Babycham glasses and plastic sword Cocktail Sticks? They still have hundreds). Need some inspiration. Hit me.

I have to say I wasn't very impressed until I saw the last picture. That's ace!

It needs some red baize lining the shelves, and an ice bucket with tongs.

I rather like that!

That lamp though..... did your local bordello hold an insolvency auction?

That’s the feature that did it for me. And is providing much entertainment for two of my cats.

Ah yes, an ice bucket, of course!

Thanks.

Well done on your purchase - did you get it at the local auction house?
I'll suggest a silver cocktail shaker and silver spirit/wine measures

I found it on eBay locates around 30 miles away. Turned out the chap bought it from my local town auction house (for around £25 less than I paid for it) so he delivered it back to me at no charge. Great chap - ex prosecution lawyer who has started his own business.

I have a lovely Laurent Perrier Champagne Bucket and some beautiful cocoktsil shakers. Parents are giving me an old Decanter, tray and glasses and some pieces they had for their wedding (55 years ago).

Picked up an original Hans Turnwald Freddotherm Ice Bucket which goes perfectly In my Bordello Dining Room.

Slowly working on removing the varnish and repainting the unit. Looking at putting hairpin legs on it and bringing it up to bar height to make the most of the mirror/revolving section.

It has a lemon juicer on the inside of the door? I like it very much!

This served me well over Christmas and I had a few gifts to accessorise it. Haven’t quite finished the inside but had to put on hold for the festivities so will restart in the New Year.

On the look out for some more vintage glassware and a soda syphon but not had time to charity shop hunt - hopefully the next few weeks may turn up some cleared out clutter, another woman’s treasure.

I want to read more next year (loved the literary Cocktail book) and was thinking of starting a Book Club with 6 weekly Cocktail nights. For me and my cats.

That’s a cracking unit....& having returned from a Tarantino-themed burlesque evening at a local music venue, I rather approve of the lamp rofl

Next up....favourite cocktails?
