Maybe a Subsection of the Breakfast Thread but...

Couldn't sleep so at 6'ish decided on a Bacon Buttie, or two!

Crispy Grilled Bacon, so the fat is brown and crispy, buttered white bread, tomato sauce, top slice dipped in the fat in the pan! Can't beat the smell of grilled or fried bacon on a Sunday Morning!!

At least 4 slices of bacon per Buttie! (this is important, I've had 'sandwich' shops put just 2 slices in and the bacon gets lost!!)

Accompanied by a Mug, (not a cup), of sweet tea.

How do you do yours? Smoked Bacon? Brown Bread? Toasted Bread? Bread Cakes? Additions?, egg, black pudding, tomatoes??

Sorry, no pics as they where gone in minutes, might have to do a couple more later soon!!

As above but with brown.

A bakery near my work does the best bacon rolls, they ram loads of bacon in and it really shows.

4 slices, grilled till the fat is crispy, white bread, no margarine or butter, loads of ketchup on both sides.

Yum!

Would do one now as we have bacon in the fridge, however my daughter is taking me out for breakfast later.

It's still early, Go for it!!

(Butter is nice though, it melts and adds even more flavour!)

Brown sauce

We put some vinegar into the bap too - saw it on a coking show so tried it .... wow what a transformation from great to epic.

Also I do like Tabasco or Nando’s medium/hot sauce even first thing it brings out the best in bacon.

Thick rashers too - not streaky

The bap is important needs to be white needs to be big needs to be so soft.

On a side note.
4 sausages (black farmer pork sausage)
4 slices of toasted granary bread
Melted cheese with Worcestershire sauce
Tower it
Cut into 4 large quadrants.
This ain’t no breakfast but instead a hearty evening meal - Make it 6/8 sausages of your extremely hungry.
wink.

Op thanks bacon rolls comeinf up this morning.

Typically brown bread at home
No marg or butter
HP sauce
Bacon has to have crispy bits, so usually dry fried until the fat's rendered
Don't mind if it's smoked bacon or not, but usually it's dry cured back bacon so it's not full of water
4 slices of bacon

2 slices of black pudding if I'm feeling decadent / greedy ! smile

Wow, Vinegar!! Would never have thought it. I now have an excuse for more Bacon Butties, just to try the vinegar you understand!?! I do add Tabasco to the tomato sauce now and then.

Might pop to Sainsburys for some Black Pudding as well!

Crusty white bread, butter & grilled unsmoked bacon. Usually eat brown bread but not with bacon or (hot) sausage fillings.

Yep, got to be white bread, brown bread just isn't right! (for me anyway) It's a Bacon Buttie!! It's not 'Healthy Eating'

Smoked thick-cut bacon, fried in pan until fat is brown (but meat is still juicy!!!), with white crusty farmhouse bread.
Alongside this, I do my favourite spiced tomatoes. Gently fried finely chopped onion, garlic and chilli in olive oil then roughly chopped tomatoes added with a bit of tomato purée and some coriander. Wakes the taste buds nicely.

Smoked bacon baked (not fried or grilled) till crisp, on well-done buttered toast. That's it.
Sometimes will go BLT with mayo but usually just a simple toasted butty.

Think I might even try this, just for a change. Normally like just the bacon, but.... lick

Crispy smoked bacon and white bread toasted on one side, so that the top and bottom of the sandwich is toasted, but the inside is untoasted with a smattering of butter. No sauce.

Am I the only one who likes their bacon barely cooked? If it was a steak you'd be calling it blue.

Fat trimmed and in the pan just until it changes colour slightly. Crispy roll, butter, HP sauce.

Not blue but I prefer soft bacon to crispy. Roll (crispy or not, not bothered) and HP

Anybody know any high street chains that do a decent butty? Greggs seems to be best of a bad lot, Costa etc are awful.

For me,soft white buttered roll preferred (or thick bread if no rolls handy), bacon well cooked, not burnt, fatty ends ripped off so just meat,3-4 per roll, with ketchup or hot sauce

Bacon (at least 4 slices) thick cut, grilled any fat crispy/browned.
Bap (whole meal/white).... buttered
Lid of the Bap ‘dipped in tinned tomato juice which is warm/cooked’

Brown sauce

I get what people say re vinegar on their bap. Try it in boiled rice.
