Just seen that Marmite have launched a new product, a marmite flavoured peanut butter. Available from Ocado from Monday and then from Asda and Tesco in early April. Cost £2.50 per jar.
Form an orderly queue.........

I have just had Marmite and peanut butter for breakfast, but on two separate pieces of toast BECAUSE PUTTING THEM TOGETHER IS DISGUSTING!

I like peanut butter and marmite on toast.
The gf likes peanut butter and marmite on toast.

...but I like more marmite and the gf likes more peanut butter, so it's not going to be right for either of us.

I would say it's a waste of good peanut butter, but it's probably going to be that "palm gloop with six nuts in it" rubbish anyway.

I had them this morning, two pieces of toast and then slammed together for an awesome savoury toastie flavour overload.

It's probably my favourite easy breakfast so it's awesome to see marmite officially supportingy choice.

can't see it working. It's salt + more salt

Peanut butter & jam works because of the contrast of sweet and salty
Same goes for ketchup/HP in a bacon sandwich

I tried a Marmite flavoured sossie from the local butcher recently. Normally I can't stand the stuff but as a background flavouring, rather than a full in-your-face blast, it was fine.

A small hit of marmite works wonders in a beef casserole.....

When I have toast for breakfast I have two slices and for a spell I would have one Marmite and one peanut butter, ate them separately but did sometimes wonder if they'd be nice combined. Might give it a go biggrin

My 7 year old son has one slice of toast with Marmite on another with chocolate spread and sandwiches them together. Really not sure about that one but he likes it.

Try a marmite, pb and jam (ideally a jelly style) sandwich.

I once made the mistake of buying some American 'Skippy' brand peanut butter from Costco. It's all full of sugar so really nasty on its own.

Skippy is one of the better commercial crunchy brands in my opinion....

I love Marmite, I love PB. I just can't see it working, I've never tried it together, but I'll try the new stuff...
