I have up to £200 to spend, I want a gas BBQ because it'll get used a lot more. Ideally I want a table-top one that's a good size, I don't need cheap metal legs and eventually I want to be able to sit it in a brick BBQ space.

Is this achievable? I've looked and not found much that doesn't look rubbish, or has bad reviews. If it's not achievable, that's fine, but don't want to just give up the quest! I've only looked on eBay and Amazon, is there somewhere else worth looking?

Increase your budget a little & get a Weber Q2200 - I have 2, one in the UK & the other in France - I think they're great.

I did see those and they do say they're OK for 8 people, but they looked a bit small to me, how do you find it? Perhaps that would be a good compromise.

I've got the Weber mid size q, a few generations old, it's a really good size. It doesn't get searing hot but that's not the point of Webers anyway. It's definitely not a little portable thing, the grill space compares favourably with anything that's not seriously big.

I like it enough to have bought a second......

You could squeeze 8 - comfortably 6 - and usually I'm only cooking for 2 or 4 anyway

It is a bit of a compromise - but I also wanted a table top / compact BBQ and it fits the bill well.

Quite a slow cooker - so difficult to actually burn anything or leave there centre raw

In the UK I have one on a stand & use the side shelves - in France it's an a platform & I removed the shelves & just use the platform.

My in-laws have a Q which I used recently and it did a great job. Not sure what size it was though.

Here is one in your budget:

I have also been looking for something smallish for my daughter and saw this which looks pretty good as well:

I have the Q1200 (AKA the Baby-Q) and whilst it's a fantastic BBQ the size is a bit limiting. I would say 4 is the most it could accommodate. The larger Q2200 is more versatile but less portable.

The one I used had legs so I would guess it was the larger one. But it is way outside of the £200 budget. Not easy to find anything around £200 which is well made.

No, it looks like I'll struggle. I might take a punt on the Costco one as it's well within budget, I'm not paying for legs and the like an dit looks broadly OK.

I'd rather grab a decent one used from eBay than have a cheaper one just because it's new. SHould be able to pick up a mid sized Q for <£200 very easily. Can always replace the grates.

I did look on eBay too, but they're all collection only and miles away. That said, the one you linked to is near where I'll be on Thursday night, so could be a good option.
