In the midst of a dilemna for tea haha.

Full chicken was frozen, ive put it in the oven at 50 degrees for 20 mins, then 100 for 20, then 150 for 20 mins and now leaving it on 175 for the rest of the cooking.

Is this a risky way to defrost/cook? Its been in there for an hour now and the outside is cooking but still raw inside, i know it will cook my main concern is it being raw for so long.

If you eat the chicken, just clear the bathroom and put the bog roll in the fridge so it’s ready for later.

Its an unusual way to do it. Should have stuck in a bag and submerged in water.

But as long as cooked, you will live. Man up and eat it.

Set about it with a large saw, then it will cook quicker.

Might have been an idea to spatchcock it and maybe use the microwave to defrost first.

Hey ho, it's your relatives who have to organise the funeral.

Probably not a bad idea, to make that chicken 100% safe beyond question you would end up ruining it and it would probably take longer than you have got.

I've used numerous weird combinations of cooking but I do have a reasonable understanding of "how it works".

Tonight, sirloin which has been at room temp for 5-6 hours has just been blow torched, will then go onto a 300 degree griddle for 30 seconds a side then into an oven at 50 degrees with butter for 15-20 mins.

You can eat all meat raw, even chicken. It's the bacteria that get you. I think a whole chicken from frozen into the oven would be pretty brave, but you don't have to cremate chicken breasts.

1. Google “campylobacter”
2. Ask Cappo whether he contracted campylobacter probably from undercooked chicken about 20 years ago
3. Have Cappo explain how this was the one time in his life where he rationally wondered whether he was actually going to die
4. Ask Cappo what the continuing knock on effects of this still are
5. Find something else to eat
6. Or go hungry. It will be better. MUCH better.

I once saw smoked chicken sandwiches in a pub. Thinking it would be something barbeque-like I ordered it, but it was raw smoked, much like smoked salmon. I didn't risk it.
