Looking for advise regarding Weber BBQ covers. Is it worth in england going for the deluxe model vs the lightweight version, or are the Ebay cheaper alternatives worth a punt? This would be for a Weber master touch, and likely kept in garage over the winter months.

Go for the genuine Weber product and use a bungee to secure it

If it's kept inside over winter, why spend the money on a genuine Weber cover? They're expensive.
Weber covers are heavyweight, but I recently replaced a very old Weber cover with a £13 jobbie from Amazon and whilst it's lightweight, it's better waterproofed. (Our grill stays outside all year)

ETA: ours stayed out in sun and snow for about 11 years!

Genuine is terrible. £4 got me a tarp from the usual shed outlet that will probably last longer.

Thanks guys. It could stay out all winter but weighing up spending higher price for heavyweight weber cover vs cheaper bogog cover and move into garage for winter time.

I had the deluxe one and it was good for about 3 years but then cracked. I now don’t bother and it’s fine outside because it’s a Weber.

Got 2 years out of mine. Not UV stabilised as I would expect it to be. Started cracking after 12 months (yeah, should have gone for a refund). Use my cover for the winter days not in use (smoke a lot of meat cuts in the winter......) mainly to stop rain getting at the ash tray etc. Summer it is uncovered.

Ours has been outside for 10 years without a cover and it looks pretty much the same as when I put it out apart from slight corrosion of the top vent rivet.

The deluxe cover is loads better, but will eventually stiffen and crack.

Weber covers are utter rubbish for the money.

Am trying to track down one of these for mine

My Weber cover also cracked and developed holes. It would blow off in high winds as well.

I bought an Amazon Basics one last year - much better cover and has clips to secure it.

We have a rubber table cover and a bbq cover from https://www.kover-it.co.uk/ One is off the shelf (bbq cover), one is bespoke (table cover).

Now around 10 years old, and no wear and tear. Off and on almost every day during the late spring/summer/early autumn. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I’ve had one outdoors for a few winters and it’s fine. Cover is a waste of time imo.

The weber cover is a waste of time. It only has a tie on one side so it comes off in a little wind and blows about.
The cover isnt worth your time.

I have the genuine heavyweight cover on my Master Touch. It’s been on at least 5 years and is absolutely fine. It’s faded but otherwise stands up well to the weather - West Lancashire, so think wind and rain. I reckon it’s blown off once.

No room in the garage and I tend to use the BBQ for roasts in the winter, so it lives outside year round.

Why did Weber not put drain holes in the bottom of the unit below where the ash sits? Every year it gets full of water even with the cover on.

Also the air hole mechanism is too flimsy and sticks so you have to tt it with a hammer. Also the thermometer broke ...

I get the feeling they sell on the name not quality over here in the UK and USA people laugh at us.

Mines going still but in a cut down format. It reminds me more of a Dyson rather than a Miele .....

Sounds dodgy. Mine has never filled with water and nothing on it is flimsy.

Is it the one touch system with the proper ash catcher?

This Bosmere one, available from Amazon, is much better than the Weber Deluxe one and is a lot cheaper.
