After a Sunday Roast
Discussion
I plan on having a final blow-out this weekend before I start tracking my food/diet again on Monday after a couple of weeks on holiday.
I am going to have a Sunday Roast on the Saturday evening and usually... this would be followed by something sweet !
The last favourite I had for this was Tesco Morello Cherry Bakewell Tart in the oven - served with extra thick double cream.
Last weekend I had some Fresh chocolate brownies nuked in the microwave with some ambrosia custard.
What is your favourite way to round off your roast dinners ? Looking for an epic final dessert that will keep me satisfied for a while.

Not that this helps at all but I simply can't fit in anything else after a proper roast. Haven't had one in a while but am scheduled for one on Sunday.I am going to have a Sunday Roast on the Saturday evening and usually... this would be followed by something sweet !

Yes I know what you mean, I will feel physically sick afterwards and that's with a 1-2 hour breather between roast and pud ! Made this Apple pudding last week.
She calls it Malvern pudding, but it's a steamed pudding whereas normal Malvern pudding is cooked apples topped with a cinnamon flavoured custard.
However the lemon zest and juice in this gives a real freshness to the stodge, though the recipe doesn't say please note self raising flour not plain.

...jam rolly-poly for afters?
I do like a jam roly-poly but i find the aunt bessies one doesnt quite cut it - any other recommendations ?[edit - Eve's Pudding... https://clandestinecakeclub.co.uk/apple-sponge-eve... ]
Either that, or get a wiggle on down to Corfe Castle bakery in Dorset, and buy a whole Dorset Apple Cake. £7 from memory, and absolutely lovely. Pour some double cream over it, and enjoy...
If you can't face the trip out to The Purbecks, find a decent local bakery, or even a farm shop/cafe, and "try before you buy". Some of 'em are more than willing to sell you a whole cake/pudding/pie if you enjoyed your slice. Leave the aunt Bessie's stuff to students...

That looks nice - i think steamed puddings are best !She calls it Malvern pudding, but it's a steamed pudding whereas normal Malvern pudding is cooked apples topped with a cinnamon flavoured custard.
