In a similar vein to the tools you wish you'd bought sooner thread...

I give you the humble mouli legumes. The amount of faff, work, cleaning etc I've done over the years pressing veg through a sieve with a spoon sorted by a cheap pressed steel mouli. banghead

Have a small kitchen so limited space for gadgets but an instant pot pressure cooker was best investment made recently. Few threads on here about them. Adds a bunch of new recipes to the repertoire, usual pretty easy just cut stuff up and lob it in for ten minutes, most have been very tasty too.

Can we include bbq items ?
If so, I recommend the kamado ceramic bbqs.
Very fuel efficient and look the dogs danglies.

Also, Weber bbq. They’re all good but the large insulated one is awesome. And the Weber burger patty press. Great tool

Not so much any one thing as just buying good quality items. Instead of a 99p speed peeler get a decent OXO one, instead of cheap supermarket knives get a couple of good knives that hold an edge properly and will last a lifetime, same with pots and pans. Get a couple of good chopping boards that don't warp every time you rinse them under a hot tap.

Hands down the best kitchen gadget I've ever bought.

I've got one somewhere but only used it once. A masher is less faff.

Nicer mash with a ricer though!

Wrapmaster 1000

Dispenses foil and cling film evenly and without having to spend ages looking for the end of the roll. Then cuts it perfectly square with 1 easy motion.

Tis truly an improvement to life. bow

I agree, very little extra effort for far nicer mash. Lob in some butter, seasoning and whole grain mustard lick

We have various food processors, mixers etc, but something I use all the time is our kenwood mini chopper. Brilliant for finely chopping onions, herbs, making guacamole (makes short work of avocados)

There is no comparison - the results with a ricer are far better. I'm zero carb, I've not eaten potato in years, and I still have mine.

The OXO speed peeler, already mentioned, is another must have. Seriously.

A massive High Carbon Japanese knife is a pleasure, but not a gadget. Get a Minosharp for it.

Microplane graters are superb.

Slow cooker. Nothing makes great tasting stew with less faff than a slow cooker.

Clearly I need to persist with the ricer.
