I work on boats, and just recently Chicken 65 was on the menu.. Never heard of it before, it was bluddy lovely, and it came up on google straight away smile

Had another spicy chicken dish a few days later, recognised the name, but now I simply can’t remember it.. it’s not on the wiki list of chicken dishes and I’m no longer on the boat ☹️ If my memory comes back I’ll definitely have a go at it.. in the meantime I’m still working through my list of rubs for beer can chicken, now a regular in the Weber 👍

Chicken 65 is a relatively popular starter dish in Indian restaurants in Leicester.

I cook it fairly often after coming across it in India a few years ago.

Recipe:

Marinate 250g chicken in:
1⁄4 tsp salt
1⁄4 tsp pepper powder
1⁄4 tsp garam masala powder 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp white vinegar
1 tsp ginger & garlic paste
1⁄2 tsp oil
1 tbsp corn flour
1 sprig of curry leaves, finely chopped

To fry:
3 green chillis, chopped
3 sprigs of curry leaves
1⁄2 tsp kasmiri chilli powder

- Marinade the chicken pieces
- Deep-fry the chicken
- Fry the chicken with the chillis, curry leaves and Kashmiri chilli powder
