Own brand vs established "premium" brand
Discussion
Do we have a thread for this? If so, I couldn't find it but if there is a similar thread feel free to point it out to me.
But on topic, I'd like to share my comparison of supermarket own brand product vs the named brand and would invite you to do the same... if it isn't too much of a taboo.
Nestle Cheerios vs Tescos Honey Hoops & ASDA honey hoops
You know what you're getting with the Nestle stuff, namely mildly sweet hoops that soften quite quickily in milk. The ASDA alternatives are broadly the same prehaps a little sweeter, and if my local hadn't stopped stocking them I probably would have never been able to try the Tesco versions. These are sweeter by at least 75% and when I checked the ingredients they claim "Blended Honey (3%)", now I suspect the other 97% is some sort of epoxy resin as they are harder than hard thing having a hard time on a hard day while ODing on viagra. A 5 min soak in milk will not in any way soften these at all.
