Morning Everyone. As the title says, does anyone drink OXO? As in hot OXO? As in sprinkle OXO cube into hot water and then drink it? I'm a keen Football fan and I'm getting a tad bored of making a flask of Bovril for those cold winter evenings on the terraces. I'm sure I used to have it as a kid.

Simon.

Not sure about OXO but you can do a lot worse than a spoon of Bouillon in hot water. It’s veggie stock but nice and salty, and workable as a hot drink.

I do. A few actually, before the game. It's a half time hot beverage I'm after.

As a kid it was one of my favourites, cube of oxo in a mug of boiling water. Or just eat the oxo cube on its own.

I'm glad it's not just me then. 2 cubes for a flask you reckon?

When it's cold and wet outside, there;s nothing quite like a cup of hot, salty, meaty OXO goodness after a dog walk.

I have never tried it but I had this conversation with a good friend of mine who was annoyed the the ‘new’ OXO cubes were no longer any food for drinking. Plenty of other complaints if you google.

So might not be quite how you remember.

How is dissolving an oxo cube in water any easier than making Bovril?

Bovril can only be drunk if accompanied by a Wagon Wheel. Football law.

Hot OXO + Heinz Tomato Ketchup + some Tabasco.

I have it instead of Lady Grey + Honey + Lemon Juice

Am I weird?

You as well? Thought it was just me with a penchant for raw oxo. Mind you, I quite liked Bonio biscuits as well...

On the topic. I have a penchant for raw bouillon, cheeky dipped finger in the pot.

It all started with pot noodles, and having a sly dip in the powder before adding water.

One of may favourite basic foods is couscous with bouillon, soaked for 5 mins. Maybe some peas if I’m feeling adventurous.

“Oi mate, got any Bouillon? C’mon, I need a hit...”
