Lucky Boat No1 Noodles
Discussion
Ive just bought a 9KG bog of noodles. Yes, 9KG!!!
Lucky Boat are supposedly the brand used by most takeaways, and seeing as I do a lot of Chinese takeaway cooking I decided to buy some. But they are seldom sold in smaller quantities than 9KG boxes. So I ordered someonline from a Chinese wholesaler.
Theres about 85 noodle cuddles in each box, so these are going to last me quite a while. Im bagging them up into bundles into sealable food bags to try and make them last, but I'm wondering if freezing dry pasta is an option? They probably won't actually freeze as they are dry, but it might help preserve them?

Er, you know you can pick up smaller plastic bagged quantities from quite a few chinese supermarkets don't you?
If you want to keep nasties off them (we get flour beetles here which sometimes decide to go at our stash) you just need to keep them in a big airtight tupperware container. No point freezing the dried noodles, if anything you'll probably cause them to go all brittle and disintegrate.

I ordered the 9kg box from Ziang's (them with the YouTube channel). I had not expected there to be as many noodles as there were in that! I got through a lot but the box was getting in my way so I slung a load out. They are good though.
The box of noodles will probably outlast me. Ziangs channel is brill. PositronicRay said:
Isn't the takeaway bit redundant?
What I mean is I like to replicate the meals you buy from Chinese takeaways. Ive perfected a few so that they taste pretty much exactly the same as my favourite takeaway dishes - sweat & sour sauce, shredded chilli beef, fried rice, foo young etc. So I wanted to try the Lucky Boat noodles for making chow mien etcLeadFarmer said:

It can vary between takeaways as to whether you get thin noodles, flatter thick noodles or thick round noodles.

As per the OP, Lucky Boat No1. or No.2 are the ones most takeaways use. I use them and they are the fantastic! Ha, I also have 9KG (Less what I've eaten) of those noodles in a container in my garage. Always a conversation point.
I just love noodles!
My 9kg box is taking up valuable space in the kitchen cupboard, I'm doing my best to eat my way through them. I've portioned them up into sealable food bags.I just love noodles!
Anyone now if dried noodles freeze well?
