I don’t, and wouldn’t normally. But since being at home more (current events) I’m drinking many more cups of tea, and also concerned about running out! It seems wasteful with a quick dunk & it’s chucked out.

But they always look a bit manky when they dry out (I put them in a pot before throwing away so I don’t get the bin all wet). But maybe I should. Or does all the flavour go.

Anyone do it? (No, I won’t be buying loose tea before someone suggests it)

Some are designed to be that way - green tea for example. Some of the brands of sencha, such as Yamamoto do actually say each bag can be used three times, and the 'sushi bar' tea bags are designed to be left in the cup and have the hot water topped up (note not boiling). Using 80/85 degree water also is part of the reason behind this ability I assume.

We use loose leaf tea twice in a small infuser that fits in a cup but teabags just dont work the same and only work once.

Shouldn't be an issue if you're not a squeezer!
On the second dunk, make sure you heat the mug first and that the water is as hot as you can get it, I hold the "off button" down for an extra few seconds, the water always "boils" more rapidly making me think it turns off before boiling temp is reached anyway. You'll need to squeeze on the second dunk!thumbup

I think it's the oppersite of council!

I did consider it when getting low, but a delivery arrived including tea bags so I gave up.

My parents reuse each bag three times I think!

I do.

I leave the teabag in the mug and just add more milk and water for the second cup. I used to like my tea really weak, whereas my girlfriend is the opposite. Now I can drink anything from 'can see the bottom' to 'stand the spoon up in it' and enjoy them equally.

fking disgusting habit, I dont drink tea but i am regarded as a talented tea maker. My secrets are too leave the bag to steep for a couple of minutes and to squeeze the life out of the bag before removing. Seems simple to me but I can only assume people are accustomed to drinking shoddily made tea. If you enjoy drinking tea why would you scrimp on having a decent cup of it?

As a drinker of weak tea, yes I re-use, however my ritual involves a small metal pot.

Pour enough hot water for a mug into pot.
After waiting the exact time it takes to replace the kettle (near immediately), pick up & pour tea.

The only essential to this is the pot must be emptied into mug completely each time.

This avoids visibly unsightly teabags & dirty teaspoons

ETA 3-4 uses!

Yorkshire tea bag, 25 stirs clockwise then 10 anti clockwise, no squeeze on the bag, add milk and sugar to taste.

Perfect every time.

No re-using nonsense, wtf is wrong with folk?

Just checked with my butler, he says he wouldn't entertain such a ghastly idea. Frightful.

They wouldn’t re-use for you to ensure there was some life left in the for them, tea used to be kept under lock & key by the lady of the house, (staff re-used the leaves later)

In earlier times "Small Beer" was when the brewer re-used the mash from a brew to make a second, weaker, beer which was really a substitute for water as it was safer to drink. beer

I don't really fancy "small tea" though.
