I've always like strong, bitter coffee, but hated instant in all its forms.

Over the last year or so, the coffee's I once loved have all begun to taste awful to me - this is the case even when I drink the kinds coffee I used to love at my local coffee house, so it's not just me making it wrong at home / my coffee machine malfunctioning.

I now seem to only like very mild coffee, as opposed to the blackest, strongest stuff I used to love.

So... in terms of mild coffee, what are the mildest, most mellow ones about?

(I'm willing to try "Tassimo", fresh beans or even GOD FORBID an instant if it comes recommended).

I always used to enjoy the normal Nescafé till they improved the taste and it was awful. Still stick with Nescafé but Nescafé gold now. Same here I prefer I mild taste rather than a really strong taste. Not into all these fancy coffees and spending a few quid for the sake of a cup of coffee.

Give rave coffee a look, various options and you can choose packs which have a few different types to try.
They sell in various "formats" - I get the ones for a caffitiere (which was £10 from Amazon)

I seem to get the same thing

Always buy beans and grind them. Find I go off, or lose the taste by end of packet. Find that rotating different coffees helps.

I order from Algerian coffee shop and always have their velluto nero and formula rossa in the rotation with other beans they recommend.

Neither have I, and to be honest, I didn't even think it was still sold! I remember the adverts (many moons ago) where the 'visiting guest' would pour their awful coffee into the pot plant and get out their jar of MB.

Found it!

I find that mellow birds stuff awful. I was made a cup and couldn’t drink it. It’s cheap and for good reason.

It's made for people who don't like coffee.
