Nevermind critique of the show, what did you pick up from this season?
I was happy that Thomas won, loved his steadfast belief in serving up pub gub done amazingly well. So tonight instead of julien style carrots I boiled them whole until just on the point of being soft enough, drained and then fried for a couple of minutes in butter and onion seeds; not sure how Thomas did it but they looked right and tasted very, very yummy.
Secondly not sure who did it but before frying tonights sirloin steaks I rendered the fat down a bit, releasing enough fat to fry them in actually, which was a pleasant surprise, although I added a little dripping to be sure.
My presentation still sucks though.
