My favourite is Lagavulin because of its peat/smoke flavour......I've just read that Octomore is even stronger......anyone tried it? I'd never heard of it.

Yep, tried it Hawksmoor, Air St. I was given a tiny sampler as the bar man over heard me talking to a colleague about it. Glad I tried it but didn’t like it. I am bourbon and rye person, the smoke on any peaty whiskey just repeats on me. If smoke is your thing give it a try.

Yes,,I have several bottles of it..the 9.3 is the best so far. If you like peat it is excellent.

I have a fair bit of Lagavulin, which is a fine whisky, but hard to beat the Octomore for the peat..here is an unopened bottle I just pulled. Nope, not going to try it just yetsmile...

I'm going to start this by saying I don't like peated whisky but yes I've tried a couple as the local hotel has them. Can only liken it to what piss strained through a particularly fierce bonfire would taste like. My brother thought they were excellent haha!

I have a bottle and i like it a lot! but it is expensive...

If you want something similar that is cheaper try the Port Charlotte 10 - same distillery, with a very peaty taste!

try the whisky (not piss) with a splash of soft water it will open up a whole new experience of flavours and aromas
