What do you use that are not luckyboat no1 noodles?

For anyone who doesn't know, it's well known that almost all chinese restaurants/takeaways seem to use this one brand, Luckyboat no1. If you want to replicate that takeaway chow mein at home everyone says to buy this.

Surely this can't be, there must be some that are pretty close?

Does anyone here buy any particular types of noodles (specifically egg noodles) for their chow mein that might be easier to find? Even better if it's found in supermarkets (like asda) as opposed to trying to find a oriental shop.

I just use the supermarket fresh ones that you get in the veg isle at the stir fry section.

Im sure sharwoods will do you some dried ones and probably blue dragon too.

Lucky boat all the way, though If you don't want to buy them in massive boxes, I found my local Asian supermarket has smaller bags available.

Lucky Boat all the way!

9kg box is about £16. A faff to source if you don't usually go to an Asian supermarket, but on the upside a 9kg box will last you a long time.

I've never found any other noodles that are anywhere near as good.

Just buy the lucky boat noodles.

It's a talking point every time someone sees my garage workshop and asks why I have a gigantic box of noodles there hehe

The supermarket ones don't even come close.
