Plumping up dried dates

Evening all

I'm going to make a cake with dates in tomorrow. I have medjool dates but they've dried out a bit because I left the box open. Can I juice them up a bit by soaking them in some water overnight??

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

I don't think you need to leave them that long. 15mins in hot water should do (or soak in booze/coffee/etc depending on what cake you're making).

Thank you , decided to take the plunge lol, I’ve stuck them in a small amount of cold water, will fish them out before I nod off . Don’t want them to be too moist either, alcohol good idea but none in house
