Continuing mine and the Mrs' plan to make sure we always do a Sunday roast, third on the list i going to be leg of lamb: https://www.hgwalter.com/collections/lamb-roasts-1...

What are the best usual trimmings to go with it?
The last two weeks we've done beef and chicken, both with roast potatoes, yorkshires. With the beef we did sprouts and carrots, and with the chicken the mrs did cauliflower and broccoli cheese with a few sprouts and carrots thrown in.

Do we just do the same as before, or anything we could do differently?
I'm impressed with how my yorkshires have been turning out.....do they go with lamb as well? Thinking maybe mash instead of roasties this time?

Dauphs go great with lamb, recently I seem to be doing a lot of roasted heritage carrots with caraway seed and lightly blanched long stem broccoli.

The other thing that goes well with lamb/mint is asparagus, not in season but it seems to be in all the supermarkets lately.

We do a mushroom gratin thing which goes really well. It's a bit like this one https://true-north-kitchen.com/mushroom-gratin/ - Sounds odd but it is full of flavour and acts a bit like a portion of stuffing would on a roast dinner.

I also like red cabbage with lamb.

and if you are doing sprouts, my new favourite way is in a pan with (james martin levels of) butter and some bacon lardons and a foil lid wedged on so that no steam can escape (nice and tight). Stick it on the gas and burn it for 10 mins or so (and don't be tempted to take the lid off mid cook). If you get it right, you get perfect soft yet crunchy sprouts with caramelised bacony bits in there. Super simple and mega tasty

Oh and always yorkshire puds - go with every roast regardless of meat choice

Cheers guys, some good ideas here.

Anything with James Martin levels of butter must be good!

And noted on Yorkshires, I'll happily have them every time.

Not a side, but anchovies poked into the lamb before roasting works extremely well!

Going Mediterranean, a tray bake of red onion, mixed peppers and courgettes is really easy.

Add a bit of halloumi and/or feta for added goodness.

As a non-veggie, I thought this was great and would go well with lamb.

Fair point, just offering an alternative. I can't imagine dousing this in gravy would work so well. hehe

Needs some 'green' on the plate: steamed savoy cabbage, rainbow chard, fine green beans, etc. Asparagus in season.

Romanov Cauliflower cheese, if you can find one. Add some fried lardons to the cheese sauce. Red Fox cheese is my preference.

You will never eat the white stuff again.
