Microwave bacon
Discussion
Anyone used a bacon "crisper" in the microwave? Will it give me an edible meaty sandwich filling?
I realise the usual PH snobbery will call for chef to grill the finest pedigree pig parts been cured with the salt of virgin's tears on a a ceramic/diamond coated unobtanium slab over lumpwood charcoal made from the finest rare/endangered hardwoods smuggled in from the jungles of Borneo, but we're working with a 15 minute breakfast break, a microwave and a toaster, OK?

Don't do what my son did.
Raw bacon between two slices of bread. Microwave and then eat.
However, using a mic to warm cooked crispy bacon does work.
People tend to demonise microwaves and used inappropriately (like my son does!) they can ruin food but to bring food back up to temp for eating or preheating sauces when cooking they can save an enormous amount of time.

The trick to re-heating food in a microwave (especially delicate stuff), is to not over do it.Raw bacon between two slices of bread. Microwave and then eat.

I see people putting a big pie or similar in a microwave, setting it to 5 mins so the middle is warm, trouble is the outside is now completely knackered. Microwaves don’t cook from the middle as commonly believed, they just penetrate a few cm’s into the food. So still dont reach the middle of something big.
Large and solid foods should be cut in to a couple of smaller bits. Heat for 1-2 mins, leave for 1 min and repeat until just cooked through.
