Where would you go / are you going once lockdown 3 has eased and restaurants are allowed to open again?

I haven't yet figured out exactly where I'm going, but I do know that I definitely am.

Criteria for me are:

Decent food that it's worth busting my diet for
Allowed to open, but as "un-covid secure" as possible - e.g. no perspex screens - by this I don't mean I want to catch it, more that I don't want constant reminders of it everywhere I look.
Somewhere with a bit of a buzz, not somewhere stuffy and formal.
Somewhere in "Central" London - I get the train into Marylebone and will either walk or cab it from there. Happy with anywhere in Zone 1 - possibly Zone 2.

Normally I've got a list of places I want to try - but right now I'm stuck for ideas.

Apologies to anyone not interested in London Restaurants, but I don't fancy taking the train to Manchester just for lunch or dinner.

'Mere' for me. Monica Galetti's place in Fitzrovia.

At the end of the last lockdown we managed to get to Cora Pearl in Covent Garden for my daughter's 21st before they were all closed again. Their sister restaurant, Kitty Fisher in Shepherds Market is also great.

I'll look for whoever is doing special offers. At the end of lockdown 1, the wife and I had afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason on a 2 for 1 deal.

My local Indian.

Me and my son would spend a pleasant evening in there betwixt the Lockdowns.

More often than not, we'd be the only people in there. 40 empty tables and two of the grumpiest waiters ever.

Heaven.

Given that it'll probably be Spring by the time we can really enjoy a restaurant trip, I think me and some of the boys will head to Gaucho in Richmond and have dinner by the river.

Just walked past there. They are doing takeaways. Steak and chips for a tenner.

People sitting on benches nearby munching their lunch.

Any. I don't care. I just want to go out for dinner. Right now I could enjoy Frankie and Benny's, Croydon.

I....just....want....to.....go.....out.

Yup - pretty much this - although the combination of both Frankie and Benny's together with Croydon is probably taking desperation a bit far.

One of my coping mechanisms is to plan it, and have something nailed down in the diary as soon as it's worth doing. I guess most people are currently thinking it's too soon to be thinking about this, but I don't.

I got caught on the hop at the end of the November lockdown, and the best I could do was a lunchtime booking at 2:30pm at Bocca Di Lupo. This time I'm going to be more prepared.

To the guy who recommended Blacklock - yes it's on my list - I've been there once and liked it, so will go back. Whether it's where I will choose to celebrate the end of lockdown is not yet determined.

I would have chosen The Ledbury but they’ve closed for good so it will be Chez Bruce. Down on the train in time for lunch and stay through till dinner. Visit a few pubs after and a night in a hotel.

The family and I are going to Chez Bruce as soon as we can get a table post lock-down

I also can’t wait to meet up with some old cronies for lunch at The House of St Barnabas
