Is it Brexit or Covid that's killed off Fruit club biscuits?

I saw orange and mint (separately!) ones in Aldi at the weekend but no fruit. They were purple IIRC? Quite liked them.

I’ll have a look in Bookers when I go on Tuesday and Hancocks and Batleys if I end up going to those two later on in the week and report back with my findings.

All three of the above sell stuff that I haven’t seen in the supermarkets since the 80’s.

Yorkie Raisin & Biscuit is a good substitute if you can't source any.

That's gone now. Probably still available elsewhere, but the volume sold here meant it went when the sugar tax came in.

Perhaps they had just got so small over time that they just went "poof".

Nope, although it seems to be 50/50 whether places stock the full fat or zero. From memory Tescos still have the full fat.

I stand corrected, thank you. This is good news!
I thought I'd read at the time the tax came in that they were going to stop selling the sugary version of the flavoured Cokes as the total volumes sold were relatively small. In my defence, it appears Sainsbury's only sell it (canned at least) as Coke Zero Cherry, and I've never really looked for it very hard elsewhere as I thought is was NLA.

Back on topic, fruit Clubs are definitely the best variety.

Uniteds are the biscuits I miss.

Likewise, I only realised when I started online ordering from Tesco as lockdown began.

I'm amazed that so many drinks manufacturers caved in to the taxes and trashed their products. I pretty much only buy Coke/Cherry Coke now, and from smaller manufcaturers who haven't changed the product or have products that weren't high sugar in the first place.

Another one I miss is Cherry 7up (in the steel cans!), and Kelloggs Start. I think Nestle Clusters are gone too.

I sometimes use this

and this

Not to scale!

You can make it as cherry as you like then too. Great hangover refresher.
