I'm looking to buy some steak and the butchers around me are not the best. Can anyone recommend an online butcher. Google comes up with a few but I'm not sure about their quality and would prefer to go with the vast knowledge of PH.

I would look around for a localish butcher. Farm shops are usually good hunting ground too.

That looks good but quite expensive. I was looking at Donald Russell. I don't mind paying for quality though.

I tried donald russell. The steak is nice but cut small. The burgers were amazing though.

It's not cheap but if you look at their ribeye for example of 30 quid for minimum 750g off the bone
Minimum 800g on the bone

Waitrose sell an excellent bone is rib steak for 30 quid a kilo

So yes more expensive but I don't think it's in take the piss territory.

I'd love to support a local butcher but there just isn't one that produces consistently good beef.

Never had a problem smile
Got halfway through placing an order a couple weeks ago then went off and did something else, went back to finish off my order the next day (£180 worth) and they had emailed saying 'we notice you have not ordered for a while, here is a 50% discount code off your next order'

They're the only online butcher i've used, but they do fantastic tomahawk steaks. They are superb reverse seared.

Currently have the 28oz ones on sale for £16.99

Totally agree with this. When I come close to needing more I tend to wait till the expensive things I want are reduced.
Also very good from them are their minces. However their sausages are only average (though quality components) and as to their haggis - once tried, never again, even if it was humanely hunted.

I'm really tempted by the Meat Matters aged dairy sirloin off the bone. The picture looks fantastic.

Ordered the sirloin from Meat Matters. It will be cooked and reported on next weekend. £10 delivery was a bit of a hit.

I have been a customer of Rikki's for years now. Always spot on and locally produced, some of the best sausages you will ever taste. Pork pies are great as are his Faggots. Never tried the delivery service as I live near. Its always busy which means the locals like it can't ask for more than that, if the sheep farmers use him it has to be right.
