Where to eat in London
Discussion
Friday 21st August, in London for Wife's birthday. Where would you eat? Don't want to go to somewhere all these celebs / instagrammers hang out if i'm honest but looking for good food. Don't mind paying for it either. Any type of cuisine considering so throw some recommendations up.
Cheers

Goodman if you're going to be in central London and fancy a nice steak.

No, not a bit. Just wanted various choices that’s all.
Staying close to Tower Bridge.
Lots of choice round there.Staying close to Tower Bridge.
It's been ages since I've been but Pont De La Tour is a stroll away and was really nice last time I went.
My two favourites are St John (Smithfield) and Bentley's near Piccadilly.
If you really want to go upmarket - https://kitchentablelondon.co.uk/ (should be back open soon)
For great steak and cocktails - https://thehawksmoor.com/ is highly recommended. Ate there between plays for The Cursed Child on two separate occasions.

Gaucho is good if you like Argentinian / steaks etc. There’s one 5 minutes from Tower bridge too.

How about if I said between steak and Italian. Any specific recommendations?
For steak, south of the river near Tower Bridge is the Chop House https://www.chophouse-restaurant.co.uk/menus/

I like Omnino on Leadenhall Street too but it will be a bit quiet around that neck of the woods at the weekend (or in the week at the moment for that matter!)
That is nice, but only eaten there once. Being underground not much to look at.http://omninorestaurants.com/leadenhall/
As for the City at the moment its getting busier but still not the same. I went to my office on Fenchurch Street on Thusday morning. Leadenhall Market was bustling with lot of outdoor seating for people eating and drinking. but otherwise there just seemed less people around. I came home at 2pm and had a train carrage to myself.
