I'm sure that some on here will have heard of this before but on a trip to Ashton-under-Lyne last weekend for the Stepsister's wedding we went to a local pub for some dinner.
Frankly I'd not have stopped at the pub if it hadn't been recommended as it looked like a real local's establishment - the conversations genuinely did stop when we walked in.

I'm so glad we did stop as they had a dish on the menu I'd never heard of "rag pudding"

Oh
My
God

How have I not had this before, utterly fantastic.

Basically suet parcels filled with slow cooked, shredded beef and thick juicy gravy
Served with home cooked chips and peas.

Heaven!

It's a Lancashire dish.

You can order some online if you want.

I have only had it once many years ago at a pub around Saddleworth somewhere on the way home from a business meeting. Very nice
