I've read a few very old threads where these pans are talked of as the best pans you can get.
Am I looking at the right ones? Like these: https://anolon.co.uk/products/professional-5-piece...

They just seem a bit too cheap to be considered that good, no? When you think that £125 doesn't even get you a singe Le Creuset pan.....https://www.lecreuset.co.uk/en_GB/p/cast-iron-saucepan/CI1181.html

They are pans. They have no moving parts. How expensive should they be to do the job?
They won't improve your food.

Bloody Nora! As you mentioned Le Creuset I thought I'd check out the price of the griddle pan I found at the back of a cupboard doing a clear out.
Over £100!
It's rubbish!
Heavy, uninsulated handle, takes weeks to get up to temp, which it doesn't appear to do very evenly, and is currently residing in some undergrowth awaiting to be picked up for scrap.

Nothing wrong with spending plenty on pretty pans if that's what floats your boat, but there is absolutely no need to spend le Creuset levels of cash for decent working pans.

Yeah fair point I guess.
But I did spend £100 on a set of pans which are pretty useless, so I was starting to wonder if you had to spend £100 per pan to get quality.

But, basically you're saying those pans I linked will be perfectly good? Sometimes I'm parted with too much money way too easily as I think expensive must mean good! haha

I liked mine, but the coating did wear out over the years. It probably took a decade but I replaced them with stainless ones this time round.

Those pans linked to are aluminium, some people prefer steel.

Anything non-stick will wear off, Analon certainly do. IMO you're better off buying a £1.50 pan from Ikea and replacing it every few years when it wears out. Just like the expensive ones do.

I suppose these fall more into my "it's expensive so must be good" category

Analon and the parent company Meyer have been going donkeys years.

Take a look on Amazon if you are interested, as the first set you linked to are £100.

Seems quite a bit for an ally pan set. I do like glass lids but the stock pot looks a bit small.
I actually don't mind non-stick, but would never buy any as my missus would knacker them in minutes, and it's me that does all the cooking!

I bought some Anolon pans about 15-20 years ago.

Used every other day.

Very happy with the longevity to be honest!

The neverstick stuff is superb too. Have / had a few analon trays and I'd rate the neverstick higher.

I replaced every baking tray - bar one deep analon - with neverstick... Previously a mix of OK mid budget and analon stuff.

The neverstick is brilliant. All like new after 2 - 3 years of almost daily use.

Have the frying pan too - again can't fault it.
