Homebrew cider/wine

Tips? Buy it already done
I used these a while ago:
https://www.colchesterhomebrew.co.uk/
They gave good advice (I thnk - maybe not, see below
), prices were decent etc.
We had an old apple tree that was giving scabby looking apples but that tasted great when juiced. Had a bash at making cider. Still have 10 bottles in the house....but the first two that I opened ended up like the Old Faithful geyser leaving me very wet and with just a bit of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. The liquid did not taste that great. I am leaving them in the house as a reminder not to bother wasting time on this ever again, especially with bottles of Aspall's Draught no more than £1.67!
Brewing alcoholic drinks will go down with ice skating and skate boarding as two things I was never inclined to do with any sort of seriousness. Skiing should is on the list too.

also any hints or tips.
Hints & tips: also any hints or tips.
During both fermentation & settling the brew that is handled best is the brew that's handled least. Resist the temptation to fiddle with it- leave it alone.
