Used to get it from Amazon and Waitrose for £49. Plenty of other places too.

Seems impossible to get for less than £75 now.

Whisky has gone popular.

This seems to be readily available again, but cheapest price is £75! I never used to pay more than £49, and that was when I was treating myself, no way I'm spending £75. Shame, it was my favourite, but who knows when I'll drink it again.

I'm no whisky expert but I would guess that this reflects the price they are now paying for raw materials and energy.

Yeah, I don't blame them for the price going up, it's just a shame it's moved it away from a price point I could justify semi regularly.

I'm in the same boat, used to treat myself to the occasional Lagavulin but just can't justify £75 a bottle
On the lookout for something similar, if you find anything please update the thread!

This is my current 'substitute' for Lagavulin.

Diageo upped the prices of a lot of their range recently, with Lagavulin 16 being one of the main ones. £75 is the new baseline for it.

I think its gone down in quality a lot in recent years too compared to what it once was.

Just think yourself lucky you aren’t a glenfarclas 25 drinker. Last bottle I bought was £84 on an Amazon offer, now go look at it.

Punchy. But then having an £84 bottle as my usual “go to” isn’t quite what I can afford anyway, so at £200 it’s even further beyond me

Just treat it as an invitation to try some new ones out

A while back someone on here recommended me Ledaig 10 as a Lagavulin 16 substitute - it’s about 90% as nice (similarly smokey and peaty, perhaps a little harsher on the nose) but about half the price - give it a go

Currently have one open - cost me c. £80 when I bought it and won’t be replacing it at 2.5x that price - but it is very nice… fortunately have quite a few other bottles to drink!

Hmmmm, that bottle looks very familiar, fairly sure I’ve had it. Will get a bottle now, just to make sure.

I snagged a bottle in Master of Malt's black friday sale, but it's back up to full price now.
