Drinks carbonator like SodaStream etc
Discussion
Our household has a lot of fizzy drinks of all varieties I have been looking at ways of saving money and wondered if a SodaStream could be the answer or similar such as Aarke presumably they all do the same job.
Probably looking somewhere in the region of 750ltrs of various drink per year.
Presumably the gas refills are going to be the killer? Does anyone do their own can you buy the gas from a supplier?

We’ve found that Soda stream isn’t a money saving device.
Gas is fairly pricy for what it is, however there are ways to refill yourself to save a few quid.
The syrups or cordials aren’t cheap and generally don’t taste like the normal stuff
Ours is in the loft since the gas ran out at the start of lockdown and getting the refill became prohibitive.
Only regret is the increase in plastic waste, but it gets recycled

I looked at an Aarke to make sparkling water, my family seems to try and deplete the supermarket stock each week, it is ridiculous. Looked into it but the gas replacements were very expensive, the 17p 2l bottles from the supermarket were miles cheaper. Would be very interested if I could find cheap gas.
I have a soda stream purely for sparkling water. Get the bottles exchanged at the Range, during lockdown and recently they seem to have been a reliable source and are typically £1-2/cannister cheaper than Argos.
TBH i am less fussed on the costs but more so on being able to make my own sparkling water on demand and like another poster says not fanny about wasting plastic from a super market on a weekly basis.

We also have a Soda Stream, solely for sparkling water and elderflower. There's a subscribe and save type thing on their website, so we've got 4 canisters in the cupboard, which seem to last us a very long time. Not really sure how cost effective it is vs water from supermarket, but it's nice to never run out of fizzy water and not be buying all the plastic bottles.

Fizzy milk.
Do it.

Reminds me of "freaky soda" I sold 15 years ago. A fizzy milk drink. Tastes.. freaky. Obviously never lasted long as nobody would buy it. Do it.

Iv made my own Gfuel fizzy and can also turn your wine sparkling so it tastes better than the expensive stuff but nobody would know.
