We’ll have they?
I’ve had a large bag from a supermarket and a small bag in my local village pub and both had hardly any salt.

Is this part of the government’s healthy eating campaign?
If so can we march on Downing Street? Where is a man to get his simple pleasures from?
Or is it just me being a moaning old git?

I don't know about salt, but the last 2 bags I had were terrible and went in the bin.

I buy quite a lot of the 450g bags and haven't noticed a reduction in salt so far. (I'm a salt fiend biggrin )

I do remember adding my own salt a few years ago from time to time if I thought they were a little 'under seasoned'... like they change depending on time of year (?) but not done that for a while.

Just getting hold of them is more tricky right now since their cyber attack, although hopefully that problem is easing now.

They do taste a bit earthy at the moment.

Go to Amazon and buy of box of Smith's Bacon Fries.

So salty it took me an age to finish the first packet, however I persevered... biggrin

A 'proper' pub snack that. I can't help thinking that the supermarket versions have been got at by the fat and salt fascists.

I find the bags always need a really good shake as all the salt gathers at the bottom.

I'm a little obsessed with the salt and vinegar ones but they're plain, unless I shake the bag. After that, the flavour is so intense it stings!
