OVD, old vatted Demerara , inexpensive dark rum, puts hairs on yer chest, it’s not for a woman is it?
Agreed. Tried a fair few rums over the years and OVD always hits the spot.Rarely see it outside of Scotland though. Reason?

Appletons or Mount gay do some very nice rums too

Don Papa without question.
Really smooth. I remember paying £40 or so at Majestic when it first came to the UK and thought that was a good deal. A 'sipper'.

When’s the Birthday?
Petrel for a fairly “plain” but smooth and fragrant Demerera rum, last batch all sold out, but you can preorder for the next bottling, which is due for April, according to this page https://www.falriverdistillery.com/shop
Mainbrace Navy Strength - Lovely as a winter warmer - https://www.drinkfinder.co.uk/p/118268/golden-rum/...
Keynvor is a lovely smooth honey and spice drink - https://mountsbaydistillery.com/collections/cornwa...

For the money I'd buy Black Bottle or XO but I baulk a bit as both seem significantly more than I recall they were.
I was 'introduced' to Kraken in a local bar last month.
TBH i don't remember much after that
Seems to have good reviews and comes in a 1L sizes as well
