I have an appointment in Wilmslow on Saturday afternoon and wondered if anyone had an recommendations for somewhere good for a nice late lunch/early dinner in the area? It doesn't have to be in the town itself but preferably east Cheshire for an easy hop back to Yorkshire.

Thanks

Dun Cow Ollerton - excellent.
Bulls head Mobberley - excellent
Bulls Head mottram StAndrew - very good
Hickories smoke house wilmslow - good

All in order of preference too.

Lived in Wilmslow for 30 years (now Prestbury) so know the area well.

Thanks Evolved - there's two there that I will look at.

I should have mentioned - I'd rather avoid Mobberley as we stayed there in February so have eaten at the 3 main ones there - all very good of course, but would rather try somewhere we haven't been.

Thanks again.

Defo the Dun Cow then. Little drive out through Alderley but worth it. Curtis the landlord is a gent.

The lamb shank is superb, as is their homemade steak pie (if it’s on).

Just to update this, In true PH fashion, I didn’t follow Evolved’s advice in the end and travelled a little further away from Wilmslow (in the opposite direction!) and went to The Church Green in Lymm.

It was pretty good. I can recommend dining outside if you get a nice day/evening weather-wise as they have an outdoor pizza oven and a nice garden. The pizza’s were very good and Lymm Dam is nice for a walk before or after. There’s also a deli which does some amazing pork pies, oils & bread etc.

I will definitely try The Dun Cow next time I’m in the area.

Thanks again
