I’ve found this when cleaning the cupboards out and I’m trying to find out if it’s any good and worth drinking. I can’t find it on the Vivino app and can’t seem to find out much online. Main question really is will it still be ok to drink having been stored in a cupboard? Would I need to decant it or would it be ok from the bottle? I’m a bit clueless when it comes to wine so any help appreciated.

I’d decant it.

It might be ok, the smell will probably tell you.

If it's been stored on its side and the inner cork has been damp in contact with the wine then it should be ok, decant slowly through a fine mesh if you have one as likely to be deposits in the bottom of the bottle, it's a full bodied red, quite strong but really nice with dark meats and strong cheeses. Good luck.

1994 vintage quality: Good

Current condition: Likely past it

For the Rhône Valley, 1994 was a mixed bag with some clear highlights.

The Northern Rhône enjoyed a hot, dry summer. Rain fell in early September, particularly drenching the Côte Rôtie. Producers who picked after the rain generally performed the best, with some good wines made in Hermitage, Cornas and Saint-Joseph.

The Southern Rhône had a spectacular vintage, widely considered the best since 1990. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape harvest was early having started late August; the resulting wines were good although Gigondas was slightly diluted.

Overall, there were some very good wines made. Some may still be worth drinking now, but not for much longer.

You presumably mean better than 1991, 1992, and 1993? There have been many much better ones since!

Most likely has oxidised if stored upright. Might have thrown a bit of sediment but this will be in the bottom of the bottle and shouldn't be a problem if poured carefully.

Open it when you want to drink it because if it is OK it will fall apart very quickly

If it looks brownish then likely has oxidised

Worst case scenario is you have 75cl of red wine vinegar.
