I've just accidentally eaten something that probably shouldn't work on paper but it was delicious. Lately for some unknown reason I've had a real craving for mustard. I've just slathered some Colman's mustard on a pickled egg and it was delicious! (Well, to me anyway).

What strange and curious food combinations have you tried that shouldn't work but somehow do?

Jam and sour cream, either on a waffle or a pancake.
The Norwegians are mad for it, was having none of it at first but it's bloody lovely.
Also, prawn salad mayonnaise on a hotdog.

I know! I ate a whole jar of Dijon mustard the other week in two days. Literally teaspooning it into my mouth straight from the jar like a madman.

Thought it sounded revolting till I tried it.
Add some black pepper as a final flourish
