Any tips? Never been used, I’m assuming the first fy will be st. Should I fry the oil on its own before putting chips in?

Nope, nothing special needed. Just use decent vegetable oil. For chips, dig out the thread with everyone moaning about how much Heston charges.

ETA: in general don't overload it, cooking small batches and clean the oil regularly.

(and avoid pictures of my dinner tonight if I post them or you will get very, very fat)

Heres a veggie version.

Make an omelette in a small pan so its pretty thick, about 1.5-2cm or more. Add anything you like to it for additional flavour, this also works with things like a tortilla. Just don't over cook it. Get it out of the pan and cool it down.

Cut into chunks, coat in seasoned flour it then deep fry at 190 until crisp. Don't let the egg overcook or it will discolour. The eggs puffs up even more when deep fried, needs to be eaten straight away.

Great with spring onion, chilli etc and sweet chilli sauce.
