I worked at Nestlé York in my student placement in 1997 and they used to sell those (and solid Aeros) in the staff shop as 'waste'.
You could get a huge bag for next to nothing.
This was life: my parents, Ugandan refugees, spent the rest of their working lives in Rowntrees. The waste shop was legendary. You could get a huge bag for next to nothing.

Japan is the place for Kit Kats, some of the flavours they do are amazing.
I was just gonna say that, they have so many flavours!Apparently ‘kit kat’ sounds very similar to the Japanese phrase for good luck, so they are often given as a gift wishing people good luck and became very popular.

- While you can get them in the UK, they are prohibitively expensive for what you get.
- Many of the interesting ones are limited editions only
- I keep forgetting to ask a friend with a Japanese wife if she can bring me back an assortment when she visits her family ....

Used to be an absolute dream when you’d accidentally get a solid kit Kat chunky, so much better than the normal ones, they really should make solid ones!!
I always thought they should intentionally make every 1 in 20 a solid bar. Sure they'd have issues with labeling or something, but would encourage me to buy more!I've got a hankering for a kit kat chunky now. Unfortunately I need to pop to the shops to get some paint, so may have to do a detour.
