I find most of the supermarket soup pretty vile, but:

Yorkshire Provender - very good

Waitrose Chicken and Vegetable broth - just like a Jewish mother would knock up, bloody lovely (especially with Lea and Perrins).

..any others I've missed?

M&S smoked haddock chowder, in fact I haven't had a bad one from them.
Is that Yorkshire Provender one the one from Costco? Because that was very nice.

Nope. They're all overly salted, watery and awful.

Make your own and don't be lazy.

'Soup' has to be one of the easiest and cheapest things to knock up in a biggish pan with a hand blender.

Covent Garden chicken soup is pretty good (add lots of black pepper)

i like the yorkshire provender root veg one and cauliflower cheese one when shredding, used to like the green thai one to but the quality of the chicken - cartilage chewy bits - has been awful in the last 2 i had in the summer so will stick to non meat ones in future.

cully and sully ones i have tried are not bad.

new covent garden the original 'slightly fancy' fresh soup is consistently crap imo.

I do have to agree on the Yorkshire Provender in terms of the chicken quality seeming to have gone down - I started to notice gristly bits in the chicken and veg soup around a year ago which I used to really like. I stopped getting their chicken based offerings as a result as I'm very squeamish about gristle. I still buy their other soups though and really like them - Mrs Loto brought in a kale and bean based one a few weeks ago which was excellent
