A chicken shish kebab with pita bread and lots of salad is pretty healthy.

None of them; they all embody everything bad in food. High fat, high salt, MSG, processed trans fats. You name it, they contain it.

That's why they taste so good.

Turkish grill style places are generally not too bad, as mentioned above you can get stuff like chicken or lamb in a pitta, wraps, my local one even do a box with your choice of grilled meat, a few fries, rice and salad.

So long as it comes with a unreasonable amount of chili sauce and garlic mayo! Hhhhm lovely. Might have to visit Atalays tonight.

A healthy kebab is probably just a proper decent one.

You ain't paying a fiver for it though.

Good point but some kitchens may have lower hygiene standards than others where fast takeaway throughput is the larger part of the business. Uncooked dishes must be avoided when immune systems are compromised; even at home. It sharpens the alarm circuits.

^^^ Very much this. Seems to be an increasingly popular style of food in UK.

The basic rules are always the same. Reduce fat and reduce sugar.

I enjoy meat/fish on an almost daily basis but keep "meat products" to an absolute minimum. Essentially anything that looks remotely like a sausage and cheap, shop-bought pies. Yes, I do eat some bacon so long as it's not swimming in grease. Similarly a limited amount of ice-cream.

Pizza should be pretty healthy so long as it's not loaded with rubbish. Similarly fish and chips can be fine or can be semi-lethal!
