Whatever has happened to clingfilm?

Sorry for such a mundane topic, but it's driving me crazy.
Up to about a year ago, clingfilm from any of the major supermarkets worked fine, pull it out, tear it off, wrap.
Then someone dreamed up "PVC FREE".
Doesn't work any more. Struggle to get it off the roll and cleanly torn.
If anyone has found a brand that still works then please tell me!

I seem to recall there was a cancer scare over it, about the same time as the flesh eating bug, dangerous dogs and the Y2K virus was being used to panic the populous well before Covid was even a twinkle in the eye of the WEF.
Not sure if there was any substance in it but it went out of fashion shortly after that and you only see it now wrapping pallets.
....aluminium foil works well though and is also handy for making hats.

Utterly pointless at doing its job now, should be charged under the trades description act.

This too. t and never stay attached for more than a few uses. They kick you in one testicle with a film that doesn’t function, and then a swift one-inch punch to the other as the box falls apart like a clown car.
Frustrated by paint pot lids that are too thin and almost impossible to remove without being damaged. i looked online and found a tip........
Put clingfilm onto the opened tin, and then put the lid on the tin, ensuring it doesn't pop up of course. Next time you need to remove the lid it won't be impossible stuck!
