This little chain of fast-food/coffee shop seems to be springing up in obscure places in Scotland/England as they grow.

https://bobandberts.co.uk/

I’ve visited in some of the “lesser” Scottish places (they don’t appear to be in any big cities yet) & it’s a really pleasant cheap & cheerful experience.

It’s feels a bit of a fusion of fast food /coffee shops
I like that you eat off of plates with real cutlery.

I’m hopeful they do well & continue growing because it would be a great high street addition to the fast food scenes in many town centres

Sounds like the last thing needed, more coffee shops.

I wouldn’t view them as an alternative to a nice wee coffee shop, but a different choice to the fast food chains. Not somewhere I’d choose to go out for a meal but a nicer experience than McD’s of Burger King & better/bigger menu than Starbucks/Costa.

Family friendly place that I’d expect to do quite well if it’s able to grow into different areas (which it seems to have been so far)

I used to frequent the original outlets maybe 10 years ago in Portrush and Portstewart in N.I. - they were go-to brunch staples each year when on holidays, but once they branched out and the chain/franchises grew it completely lost it's original independent coffee shop vibe and seemed more like the kind of cafe you get in a supermarket the last time I visited - maybe reminiscent of the old department store restaurants.

Always busy though, at least the N.I. branches are.

Agree - the one in Carlisle is pretty good and as you say family friendly and a better experience than a ‘use your own fingers’ type of fast food place.

We have one in town and have been a few times, the food has always been good but I find them a bit pricey for lunch (£30 for 2 people) to be honest but that’s maybe me being a tight northerner.

The name suggests they could be woke, possibly even gay.

I'd avoid.

The last thing we need is massive corporate chain coffee shops!

They have one in Bury.
